Job Description

Grid Forensic Accounting is looking for an experienced Junior Bookeeper. The successful applicant will demonstrate a proactive, detail-oriented approach and should possess excellent communication skills, strong problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work effectively within a team. This position presents an opportunity for personal growth and development within our accounting firm based in Western Cape, Milnerton, Lagoon Beach.

Duties & Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:

Liaising with clients in the assigned portfolio
Processing cashbook and bank reconciliations
Overseeing creditor processing and reconciliations
Processing month-end journal entries
Reconciling balance sheet accounts
Maintaining fixed asset registers and handling related accounting tasks such as acquisitions, disposals, and annual depreciation
Conducting intercompany accounting and reconciling
Preparing management accounts
Administering the full payroll function, including EMP201 and 501 submissions with assistance
Reconciling VAT and submitting SARS returns
Electronically filing financial records
Updating internal workflow management system (Pixie)
Assisting with other finance-related tasks as requested

Desired Experience & Qualification

Diploma/Certificate in Bookkeeping
Business Skills/Experience:

Minimum 3 years of bookkeeping experience
Experience working in an accounting firm is preferred
Industry Skills/Experience:

Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams
Proficiency in accounting software such as Xero and Sage Business Online
Proficiency in payroll software, with experience in Simple Pay preferred
Proficiency in SARS e-Filing

Package & Remuneration
15k-18k – Based on experience.

Please note preference will be given to candidates based in Western Cape.
